Meet Emily Green
Meet Emily Green of Abode Photo Co.
We’re excited to introduce you to Emily Green, the creative force behind Abode Photo Co., a Nashville-based business specializing in intentional, story-driven photography for short-term rentals. Emily’s work goes far beyond capturing beautiful interiors—she helps hosts create a brand presence that converts views into bookings. A mom, entrepreneur, and artist, Emily has found a way to blend business with heart, all while babywearing on the job. We loved learning more about her journey—check it out below!
Hi Emily, thanks for joining us! Let’s kick it off with your perspective—what does being an entrepreneur mean to you?
To me, an entrepreneur is someone who creates their own path. It’s not just about running a business—it's about the freedom to shape your business in a way that reflects your values, lifestyle, and creativity.
What problem does your business solve, and what makes your approach unique?
My business solves a big challenge for short-term rental hosts: standing out in a saturated market by creating high-quality photos that go beyond just showing a space. I don’t just photograph rooms—I tell the story behind them.
What truly sets me apart is my genuine care. I always do my best to go above and beyond with incredible attention to detail. Whether it’s fluffing pillows or straightening chairs—I want to make sure that every element feels intentional. It’s this thoughtful approach, rooted in quality and care, that turns views into bookings.
Being your own boss can be tough—what keeps you inspired when things get hard?
Receiving positive feedback from my clients is always a source of inspiration for me, especially when I hear that my photos have helped them fill their calendar or boosted their business. It's rewarding to know that my work is making a tangible difference.
On a personal level, a huge motivator is the desire to teach my son the values of entrepreneurship, hard work, and following your passion.
How do you balance being a business owner with life outside of work?
For me, balancing my work and personal life as a photographer and mother is really about integration rather than separation. I’ve found that being a present parent and a committed business owner don’t have to be at odds.
Since my son was just two weeks old, I’ve been babywearing at every photoshoot, and it's been such a joy. The flexibility of running my own business means I can structure my schedule around my family's needs. This allows me to show up fully for my clients with energy and focus, while also being present at home. It’s one of the greatest benefits of being my own boss.
How has your definition of success evolved over time?
When I first started my business, success was about consistency—delivering great photos, building trust with clients, and growing steadily.
Over time, my definition of success has shifted. Now, it's more about the impact my work has on my clients—whether it’s helping them grow their business or enhance their brand—as well as the relationships I’ve built along the way.
